My ex-husband and daughter’s father was an extreme alcoholic, and it was like he was two different people too. He died of melanoma—he had stage one melanoma that was treated successfully when we were married, but it recurred when he was living on the street and was stage four by the time it was found. I had tons of

Aunt Becky is putting up a fight.  The Feds don’t like it when you fight.  She’s getting at least 8 months.

Im glad this was posted to deadspin. As an older white male, it may seem like I am unable to relate. However, having recently changed jobs, I struggle currently with depression, questioning my value, my worth...I now become paralyzed at the slightest stressful decision, and I’m not sure that I’ll last.

[heart emoji] My brother went missing (presumed dead) approximately 18 months ago. After he went missing, my mom and I found some google searches on suicide and time spent on conspiracy theory sites. I did not reach out to him enough because he so rarely reciprocated and because he put on a brave face to the rest of

Oh, you can attribute the change to the Divine, but deep down we know that it’s the toxoplasmosis.

Oh Angela....

Oh Angela....

if you really wanted to record the fact that this is the parent that carried and gave birth to the child, ‘gestational parent’ is right there

Or...just spitballing here...just. stop. smoking. 530 people terribly ill, 7 deaths...that we know of.

I know, right?  When E. coli in spinach makes a lot of people sick, it’s usual to pull it from the shelves for a while and recall whole batches.  And you don’t see a bunch of bloggers going, “Stop the spinach panic! I have been eating spinach for six years and I’m fine.”

Honestly, the reaction to the Vape “panic” is a legitimate and reasonable reaction - something is shown to be correlated to making a bunch of people sick, and places decide to stop selling it until more information is known. That is a very sane reaction.

Once again I quote Olivia Colette from her excellent piece, Why I Stopped Watching Woody Allen Movies:

Ok, but as someone who works in pharma, specifically in the drug development side of things, this is a pretty standard response to unexplained deaths and serious adverse events directly linked to a product. Just because vaping is cool* doesn’t mean that industry caution should be thrown out of the window at the

Amazing that you don't see the irony in your comment.

The problem is vapes being directly targeted to children to get them addicted. Are ya’ll really all this obtuse?

They are. Check out Juul, who have a tobacco company as an investor for around 30% if I’m not mistaken, and who recently replaced their CEO with....a tobacco exec.   And that’s just Juul.

How else will she be able to smoke in the office?

Adults can choose.

The only point that matters is that vaping has increased youth tobacco use exponentially from near-zero levels just a few years ago. That adults now find it harder to purchase a product that will ultimately kill them doesn’t bother me too much and it shouldn’t bother you either. You made the dumb choice to start

To be fair:

That’s an impressive whine. Did mom send you to your room for vaping?
