Yeah, the show has not really done a good job narrating why Nicholas II was so awful. I’m always horribly embarrassed whenever I visit another country and most people fluently speak 2-3 languages. Granted, it’s maybe easier when you live in a small country that borders several others, but America still definitely lacks any kind of emphasis on teaching young children a second language.
