Yep, part-time, seasonal, and temporary are all included.

Yeah, my current boss is great and we basically get unlimited sick time. He told me when I started that the company policy was, “When you’re sick, stay home, and when you’re really sick, really stay home.” No one has abused the policy and people actually stay home when they’re sick, the office overall stays healthier.

California is a really large state though. I would assume the wildfires would have some impact, but it would be pretty minimal unless that was the only area a habitat was found.

Same. My childhood home was flooded with them when I was a kid, I don’t think I’ve seen one on a visit home for years...

Yeah, definitely now! This was before smart phones even existed, but I would also hope that there’s not that many bosses with an insane policy like that. We actually didn’t have sick days either, so if you called in sick you were already losing a day of pay, so it was pretty shitty to force someone to add a doctor’s

If you have a good job you do, but otherwise there’s nothing forcing employers to give you paid time off (there are some states that now require paid sick time, but not all).

Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of arguments that PTO should be segregated into vacation and sick days because otherwise it encourages people to come to work sick.

Come to California, paid sick days are required by law.

We had some documented evidence of abuse through email and some witnesses (but not to that particular threat). In the end though I’m not even sure the judge looked at it. He just that, “That’s illegal,” and awarded unemployment benefits.

To be fair, some bosses are really shitty about people calling in sick. I once had a job when I was younger where my boss required a doctor’s note if you called in sick. So if you couldn’t afford to go to the doctor or just didn’t need to (like with most viral colds), you were screwed and just had to go in or lose

I once had a bartender look at me totally confused when I asked for one. When I pointed to it and he was like, “Oh, a ‘half-a-way-zen.”

I went to Germany for a few weeks and after I came back I went to a bar and asked for a Hefeweizen. The German bartender asked me if I was German because I pronounced it “so beautifully.” I preened for weeks, especially since no one in Germany seemed particularly impressed with my accent.

2) What will Norman do when his daughter (Lisa Edelstein!!! aka Dr. Cuddy from House) with a substance abuse problem returns home. Sandy’s advice: Continue to love her. Having gotten some closure, I stopped there. I had my answer.

I watched it and feel kind of similar. It has some funny moments, but the acting class portion actually just really made me want to watch Barry again.

His PR agent apologized basically.

Both options are unisex.

I’m also confused why Claire couldn’t do it with herbs since she’s still in her first trimester. And even if it is Roger’s baby, he is the worst and Brianna had the right idea when she kicked him to the curb the first two times.

I also stopped reading after the first three books. The first two seasons of the show are good. The third season was not bad, and the current fourth season has been the worst so far. Nearly every character, minus Claire maybe, is unlikable and the writing is pretty bad.

Roger is absolutely terrible. Am I the only one who hopes he goes through the new stones and finds himself in a prehistoric age minutes before the dinosaurs are wiped out?
