Titus' deliriously improvised Trident jingle is the hardest I've laughed at anything in a long time. I'm almost afraid to rewatch it because there's no way it can actually be as funny as I thought it was the first time/remember it being.

I saw Little Scream opening for Thao & The Get Down Stay Down earlier in the month and they were pretty good. They played a lot from their upcoming album and I liked it all enough to check out the final product, but "Love As A Weapon" definitely sounds like a radio-chasing outlier.
Of course, we selectively credit individuals for both, I just think who we choose to give that attention to isn't the same for music vs. movies/TV. To grab two random examples, if we were to compare "We Found Love" to, say, "The Martian", Rihanna's contribution would not be analogous to Ridley Scott's, but those would…
I think it's more analogous to calling The Revenant "a movie by Leonardo DiCaprio" or Breaking Bad "a series by Bryan Cranston". In movies and TV, we tend to credit the people behind the scenes as the "creators" but in music we tend to credit vocal performers (closest analog to actors) above everyone else, which is…
I honestly think Dushku was better Gellar in that episode, she captured Buffy's essence and cadence in a way that I don't think Gellar really did with Faith. It's probably the first and last time Dushku ever out-acted anybody in anything.
"The Mary J. Blige foundation is celebrating its 10th year of searching for the Loch Ness Monster"
Glee got every grade on the A to F scale in Season 3.
So Tom Cullen and Tatiana Maslany are in a relationship…I honestly don't know who I'm more jealous of.
My brother thinks Avril Lavigne is punk music. He's 23. It's a whole…thing.
No? The premise is just as valid a component of a show to critique as anything else that constitutes a reviewer's job. The merit of a show's premise isn't self-evident just because it made it to air.
"I'm just not sure what Pilot wanted the show about saving Americans from crazy foreigners to be about?"
I like Gaslight Anthem a lot (well, I only got through about 1/2 of Get Hurt and never went back, but I don't know if I'm the only one there), but Fallon has a pretty annoying tendency to stuff way too many syllables into a line which can totally derail a good melody. Glad this album seems to be getting positive…
There isn't, really. For some reason people think that because a movie depicts a world where witches are real, that means it's actually suggesting that witches were real back then too.
I felt this way about the reveal of the witch initially, but I changed my mind upon reflection. I'm not sure if you read my comment below about the lack of a 21st century perspective in this movie, but the presence of the witch at the beginning is one of the biggest contributing factors to that reading of the movie.…
No point, other than that this is basically the genre equivalent of saying "Well of course people didn't like [insert prestige drama here], it didn't have enough explosions or car chases." It's pretentious, condescending and overly dismissive. And I'm aware that Scrawler said herself that she "didn't get it" but the…
Lord, I hate this defense. I really liked this movie but there's plenty of reason to disagree without turning it into some trite highbrow/lowbrow horror argument.
That would be where you and I part ways in opinion, because I didn't find it boring. Slow, definitely, but not boring. I was pretty entranced by it.
And add more Seann William Scotts!
A Southland Tales TV show. Now there's something I'd like to see. Call me when that's happening, NBC.
The amount of BP nominees beyond 5 isn't really up to anybody in particular though, it's based on the number of votes received. Carol obviously didn't get enough votes to make it onto the slate, but that doesn't mean anybody chose to omit it. For all we know it was in the Top 10 and their algorithm excluded it just…
