a) Starting a comment with “putting on flame-retardant clothing” is never a good way to begin. It tells us that you’re pre-emptively putting yourself in a place of victimhood (as a straight white cis man) against the mean and nasty women/POCs/trans folk.

It’s too over the top. If I read all this I would find it wholly unbelievable. And right now I still want someone to swoop in and save the day but unfortunately it isn’t a bond movie or a spy novel and there doesn’t seem to be a savior a coming.

Like Anna said, we’ve all read too many thrillers and seen too many movies like this and yet, it’s still difficult to believe that all those movies you’ve seen about a Manchurian Candidate is now real life.
