“free to play”

Is it loaded with pay to win, stamina bars, or gatcha type micro transactions?

There is nothing “bait and switch” about it whatsoever, and most people haven’t had trouble with it. Sure, a lot of people have, but most have not.

You can also do a “refresh” from within Windows 10 which reinstalls Windows from scratch without deleting any of your data. Just go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery. Note that you will have to reinstall all of your programs, so deactivate anything that needs to be deactivated first and make sure you have

I believe it will reformat your hard drive but I’m using a 250gb of SSD so it didn’t take long and I’m guessing it’ll do a “quick format” before doing a fresh install.

This “upgrade install” to me was only implemented for people who wasn’t fully committed so they can roll back to their old OS if they wanted to but as

This is why I’ve proactively upgraded all of my extended family’s computers over the past 6 months or so. I had no idea Microsoft was going to start pushing Windows 10 updates though. I just thought they were going to start charging for it after 1 year on the market.

Haha! I had this exact call last week =D

That’s exactly what is meant. And unless you’re using a 5400 RPM HDD (as an in-the-know Gawker blogger, you really should be on an SSD), the install is a fairly expediciuos process. Transferring personal files through an external HDD/online storage & reinstalling programs is also minimally time-intrusive on an SSD.

Oooh, I thought you meant completely formatting and starting from scratch.

It’s not that time consuming to do a clean install and trust me it’s wroth it (it only takes couple clicks here and there). Clean install fixed like 90% of all the issue I was having with my upgrade from Win7 to Win10. The only thing you’ll miss are all your data but I expect you’d already have all your important

I would recommend doing a clean install. I’ve found most of the bugs and stuff come with the update. Once I did the clean install, it seemed to eradicate any issues I was having with Win10.

Friend of mine had this exact problem, this morning. Seeing it again in your article has me dreading a call from my mum, who is nothing like tech-savvy. /sigh
