Loved the Pebble Time Round, would still be wearing that watch if it had a bigger screen, that was all it needed to be my perfect watch.

I like it! Probably has an extra crease that could have been smoothed out, but otherwise it's definitely a nice looking package.

Have you tried the resigned gear app on xda? It works on Android P except, I believe, Samsung health and Samsung pay.

Had the xda resigned gear app working on the Android Pie betas and they were always buggy, but at least it allowed me to use my watch. Not downgrading to Oreo just to use my watch.

To chime in with the rest, Gear S3 Classic user and get 2 - 3 days easy on my watch. No AOD and I turned off the auto HR sensor, maybe that helps.... 

Can any engineer explain how a software patch is going to fix a problem caused by a physical limitation?

I’ve flashed 2 TMobile AC1900's and it’s not as easy as just flashing an Asus branded firmware. There are steps that have to be followed to the letter, one involves finding the WPS keys (HEX) from the TMobile branded firmware and copying it over to a temp firmware before flashing. Not super hard but it definitely

Second the Gear suggestion, switched from an OG Moto 360 to a used Gear S2 (got it for $20 on ebay) and have found I prefer Tizen over AW. Look into getting a used gear and trying it out with your iphone, it could make the switch to easier.
