I will swear that the MST3K dvds I bought in the '00s all had the original untouched movie on the other side of the dvd. So, right there, if they want the original, just buy the MSt3K version and you get it!
I'm back!
It sounds in every way that Joan had a hard, sad life.
I will upvote this in any context.
It would explain so much about Alexis.
Good insight. I would never have made that connection, but it makes sense.
No kidding. I mean, her career went from Grand Hotel at one end to Trog at the other.
Oof. As a Leo, that cuts. (But … I see exactly what you mean.)
God, can you imagine? Bette Davis on Falcon Crest. Joan Crawford on Dynasty.
The whole intro delighted me, but when Waters came out from behind that screen, I actually squealed. This whole series is just the best.
Surely they'll bring CZJ in to work with Bette as Olivia on the movie? I look forward to that. And I really hope the last episode follows them from the end of Charlotte to the end of their lives, because this Feud never goes away.
I've always been Team Bette, but this show is truly giving me more sympathy for Crawford, even as it makes a very clear case that she was an even worse human being than I knew (and I knew she was bad!) It i at least showing pathos, as you said.
I'm perfectly okay with what they're doing here - already filmed footage is the best way to go, the most honest way, if you will - but everything else about this sort of thing, from Fred Astaire vacuum cleaner commercials to "resurrecting" Peter Cushing for Rogue One really nauseates me.
And Carl Tanzler!
She was on her way home from filming that when she had the heart attack.
I will do that today! You will recognize the URL anyway, though. Thanks!
:( (You're on tumblr too? I'd love to follow you and vice versa, but neither of us needs to give out our urls here.)
I know. I still get so sad whenever someone mentions Carrie Fisher or Debbie Reynolds - that one-two punch of their deaths still hurts - that I will probably always see Billie Lourd and first, smile because she makes me laugh, and then get sad, because "God, that poor young woman."
I love John Simm and am happy to see him on my tv in any capacity, but I'm surprised he's doing this. I thought, from little things here and there in interviews and comic con panels, that he regretted doing DW the first time because of all the fan insanity he ended up getting the brunt of.
