I loved every time Bette referred to her as "Lucille."

I feel like Susan Sarandon might just be willing her face to look like Bette's because I can't see that her face looks any different than normal, but … man, she looks like Bette Davis in this.

I laughed at "Welcome to the House That Fear Built!"

Yeah, no one will ever look young playing Joan Crawford in any era past the '30s.

We deserve the fucking Daleks. Bring it on.

I keep wanting to tweet GET BACK TO WORK at him, because, Jesus, all this tv/pop culture whininess should be beneath a sitting President, but … I don't want him to get back to work.

I don't think I've ever noticed that! I actually really like him and his occasional light snark. Usually I notice that little bit of snark on genre stuff that isn't the best … like the Peter Cushing Doctor Who movie, of which i can't remember what he said, but while he was mostly kind about the movie (and Peter

She seems pretty likeable, but the only intros I saw her do were a while ago now and yes, you're right - she was brand new and incredibly nervous, and didn't have her stage presence nailed down yet. I haven't seen her since - is she still there?

How sad. I had a bad feeling this was coming - his health hasn't been good for a while and there was that alarming hiatus of his a year or two ago - but it's sad to see regardless. He was an absolute delight in his commentaries and interviews.

I am now very tempted to do a rewatch. Especially because someone in one of these threads said that netflix is dumping it on April 1st, and I only have the dvd sets for seasons 1-4.

It's like those questions on Amazon; someone will ask "does this product do A, B, or C?" and someone has taken the time to respond with "I don't know." Like, it isn't a poll; every single person doesn't need to chime in.

Because England soundly trounced France in WWIII.

Psst … Bee-atle.

I love that last era you mention, myself, but also have a real soft spot for the post-Do Ya Think I'm Sexy to the pre- Great American Songbook era. Yes, the sleaziest, shallowest pop era of his career. Passion, Love Touch, all that great sleaze. Love it.

That's who he reminds me of! Doesn't even look like Hugh Jackman under there.

This episode, they went from "quirky background characters" to one of my favorite bits of the show. The scenes with her fighting and his moving in concert with her in the empty room were beautiful and affecting.

Is that the one with Edward Petherbridge & Harriet Walter or the one with Ian Carmichael? I've never seen either, just stills of both. Petherbridge is a far better candidate than Carmichael, who looks ALL wrong.

"We didn't have a dog" was also a surprise reveal in Sherlock season 4, episode 3 a couple of months ago, and that was the first thing I thought when his sister said that. Like, oh shit … that dog signifies something really bad that went down.

I am not alone! I tell you, the first time I ever saw a picture of him, i was surprised. He looks precisely like Wimsey looks in my head. Right down to the primrose-colored hair.

Never really seen him in action, but his looks make him the perfect never-was actor to play Lord Peter Wimsy in the movies that exist only in my brain.
