Got everything in the ground Saturday, and made little rock borders between the different kinds of herbs. My roses bush is blooming like crazy, and the problem kid fiddleleaf fig I put outside is already about to produce a new leaf!

My best friend got married at the courthouse yesterday, and it was a beautiful day for it, weather-wise and content-wise. We went to the Park of Roses (exactly what it sounds like, beautiful this time of year) and for brunch at a local gastropub.

I really need to read We Have Always Lived in The Castle. All my friends have read and loved it.

Nah, not if the guest is Peggy Olson.

That's a big Twinkie.

"Not Big" is mean as hell but it still makes me laugh, and I'm incapable of not singing along to it. I can't believe it's ten years old. I should give those songs a play in the car this weekend.

Let me know if you find out.

I thought I'd seen that in one of the articles here earlier this year.

Yeah, in the coda, she was the doctor or nurse waking Ben up in the future-future.

Interesting …

I'm actually 46, so if you scoot it out a little bit more…

This takes me right back. My friends and I watched this and The Tick cartoon every Saturday morning during and post-college. I was also collecting huge amounts of X-Men comics at the time.

No Matt Dillon, no Carla Gugino, no Toby Jones, and a heavy emphasis on Charlie Tahan, the worst actor from the first season by a mile and a half, means I will not be watching season two. Sadly, because I enjoyed the first season and would otherwise come back, especially because apparently Melissa Leo's still involved.

I was looking up car reviews last December before I found the car I eventually ended up getting, and I'll swear I'd seen lots and lots of glowing reviews for the reliability of that exact year for the Corolla. I hope it's just what you need!

Sure, two or three good words, even!

Good luck with all of them!

Finally bought this year's! A long list of herbs, going into a smallish plot, but this year I want a huge, lush plot, so it'll be fine. A couple of geraniums, an unusual coleus variety, a rose bush, and that's all. Vegetables never work out for me, so none this year.

Reading Agatha Christie's The Man In The Brown Suit. I had no idea she could be funny, but this book is cracking me up.

Mom came to visit for three and a half days and we had the best visit we've ever had. No political mentions, let alone arguments, no snooping, no trying-to-fix-something-that's-not-broken-and-breaking-it, no irritability. Just a nice time all around. That's only the second time that's happened.

Best of luck! I've never left the Midwest, so while I do like it here, I'm a little envious of you. Go out there and have some good experiences!
