I had a Blackberry for the better part of 7 years. The two things I missed the most were PIN messaging before and after BBM came along, and the flashing red light indicator.

It's news because not one person I know uses the Whatsapp - and iMessage is built in at the OS level. You don't have to go out and download it. Which is the main reason BBM is such a huge hit.
