good for you, pammy.

You just strolled out of a Hot Topic at the mall, didn’t you? You should be really embarrassed about all this faux-deep posturing but you won’t figure it out until well after puberty.

No one wants your respect, pal. It’s an utterly meaningless prize from an utterly meaningless person.

It was bleak as fuck, and I think another article I read said it best – it’s so hard to get justice not just as a woman in general, but by being a woman who is already looked at as damaged goods just by showing up to work as a porn actress. My heart goes out to all of these women and I hope they’re getting the

I don’t think that Angel was doing mental gymnastics to normalize abuse there. She needed to emphasize that she’s reporting for public awareness, and not for the purpose of accusing Deen of a crime, because if she hasn’t really emphasized that then hundreds of men (and some women) would have jumped down her throat

Go to court with what? There’s little the justice system can do at this point.

Yes, this. Though it's not always the case, it is something adoptive parents must consider. And I don't think there is anything wrong with admitting that you don't have the skills and/or resources to help a child that has special needs. It doesn't do anyone any favors to let your idealism overshadow your practical

Because Deen has been such a “pillar of the community” that the community will do what it can to protect him, just like Cosby. I’ve heard stories for year but, like Cosby or that pervy photographer, until enough people or enough people with clout say something....

Eh. I think the knee-jerk cries of “sex negative!” and “kink shaming!” whenever anyone criticizes porn or kink in any way are ludicrous. I also think a depressing amount of commentary on this site over the past few days has been misinformed and self-righteous at best and mean-spirited and occasionally outright cruel

I don’t know. Its weird when the article keeps making it sound like rough sex isn’t something normal people can enjoy. Only brutes can keep an erections while doing these things!... except thats not the case at all. Lots of people can enjoy rough, dominant sex and not be a sexual predator or a rapist-to-be.

So nice to see people in the industry supporting her and doing something about it, without forcing her to leap through hoops to prove something she shouldn’t be forced to relive. Very brave of her to come out and say something when she knows it will create nothing but a shitstorm with no gain for her.

Stoya’s two tweets are the corroborating evidence for what has been whispered/bubbled just below the surface for many years now. This isn’t news. It’s just the evidence that forces people to take it seriously.

Unfortunately, most women are raped by “nice guys.” It’s not a stranger in a dark alley for most sexual assault survivors; it’s someone we, and probably others, thought was safe/friendly/attractive/nice.

The requirement for a man to be a feminist seems exceedingly low. Like one of those participation awards you’d win in Little League Soccer for showing up to the game.

I think it’s just hard for some people to come to grips with, the idea that someone they’ve known and cared about could do something so horrible.

I think that some people think that if someone a feminist than they’re “above” certain behaviors.

I never felt he was a good guy after watching a few minutes of some of the rougher encounters he’s filmed. There was something in it that made it seem like he was holding back from being worse, as opposed to pushing himself to act bad.

“From what I understand, there are predatory men who stalk women in the BDSM community because it’s remarkably easy for them to abuse women there and get away with it scot free.”

I want to see him destroyed. I want more than just watching his Twitter followers dwindle.

God, that was beautiful and so moving. That she put such focus on how those assaults take something from us that can’t be replaced- that we are deeply impacted in our lives by these sexual assaults- made me cry.
