I would say the game has features of both those games- negative and positive. Haven’t been bogged down by ME:1 elevator fatigue, yet, though!
I felt like combat got much better as I gained experience points to develop a skill set. I went from thinking, “my god, this is terrible and clunky and why did I start with insanity!” to “okay, this is entertaining.”

Cool learning. Reminds me of a short story by J.G. Ballard where some patient’s brain was altered to remove the need for sleep. Worked out well for a while (felt great! accomplished a lot!), but then the build up of gunk and garbage in the brain that resulted from not sleeping did him in.
