Good to know

Well employers can be held responsible for the actions of their employees in some circumstances, so the bar as a company might be found responsible for the actions of the bartender who served the alcohol, and Tiger Woods owns the company (though I imagine it’s set up in a way to limit his personal liability)

The fact that this account is coming from someone who is not the person who got kicked off the plane, no one else has stepped up to corroborate, and there’s no video evidence of the confrontation makes me hesitant to take a sides.

Yeah I think that would be an important question if this actually goes to trial

Let him? They wouldn’t have any ability to stop him from getting a job

My original point was not about the merit of the lawsuit, I’m not arguing that Tiger Woods is responsible, but as to your question, they could have refused to serve him alcohol without firing him.

That’s a good question, I’m don’t know off the top of my head. I also don’t know how strong Florida law is on this

I don’t know if this particular case has merit or not, that’s what a trial is for, but bars can be held legally responsible for over-serving, so the parents might not be wrong legally speaking. My original point wasn’t about the merits of the case though.

I think since he entered the draft early, after only playing one year in college, they actually hold his draft rights until the year after he would have entered the draft if he played 4 years in college. So he couldn’t re-enter the draft until 2023

I’m not sure if the lawsuit has merit or not, but there are laws that leave bars open to liability for over-serving, so that’s an open question. There’s a difference between not being able to help someone and openly enabling them

That’s why it’s a ridiculous statement, not why it isn’t.

I’m not arguing that the bar should be held liable, I only took issue with the assumption about the parents. Given that it was a pattern they were aware of as well, they were in a position not to serve him an excessive amount of alcohol, but I don’t know that they should have to pay for it legally speaking.

The parents aren’t in charge of a 24-year-old man’s employment

It’s a ridiculous statement though, especially if you know anything about addiction

Why do you assume his parents didn’t care enough to help him?

The Alabama state flag is some old school racist symbolism, for true racism connoisseurs, maybe the MAGA hat was a little trendy for them lol

Obviously what Magnuson did was really shitty, but it’s also shitty that Mace thinks women should only have the basic right to bodily autonomy if they’ve been raped

It does look like the first student inside the bus turns and possibly says something. My guess is since it’s not the first time the driver did something like this, all the kids on the bus are used to it.

It used to be harmless, now it’s been co-opted by racists. It’s good you cropped it out, but someone should really talk to that kid

Most people in this country don’t have a basic understanding of economics. Unfortunately, this also includes our President.
