I'm actually really glad this defense is being allowed to go forward— A, because I'm a fan of fair trials, and B, because I think ti's going to fall flat on it's face and be good for all of us in the long run when the defense fails. But i think he has to be allowed to try it, for the sake of a fair trial.

@SaturdaysChild: Actually, this defense being allowed sort of ensures rights. The accused— and the guilty— have the right to a fair trial, no matter how horrible their crime. I'd rather we give the man a good defense and convict him legitimately than create a martyr.

@babsberkly: I think a bunch are gone by the time you're one, to be honest.

@HarmonyLane: In my area of the country, being a deb was based on grades and community service, not wealth. I know it varies by reason, but I think it's kind of cool to take an old ritual about coming of age, and turn it into a recognition of the girls most likely to lead.

@EmpressZombie: But do you really want those kids to hear tales of people's sex lives, witness drunken hookups, and have their ears assaulted with the over-load atmosphere of most bars? Bars are adult spaces. If you want to bring your kid to a bar, whatever, but you'd better be prepared to deal with the consequences

@joq8: It definitely does play a role. I wouldn't know about these shows without Jez, but since I read so much about them, I actually get tempted to watch them.... I haven't yet, but eventually? I don't know. Like, I almost want to watch the Hills and the Kardashians, just to see what their crazy interactions are

@quantumcooney: My guess has always been about maximizing reproduction— one man can father multiple children from multiple women at once, but one woman can only carry one child at a time. A way of thinking that made more sense when people were struggling to survive as a culture, and there were more women than men

@badmutha: Wha? Jez overcovers a lot of things but breastfeeding? Really? What's wrong with that?

@TurnItOff: I uptalk. I think it's fairly ubiquitous, but I once found the blog entry of an older student in my college victorian english course who'd written a whole entry about how she hated my voice. Bitch. Just because I don't speak the way you do doesn't mean I'm an idiot.

I like like. It's useful and shows that you aren't giving a direct quote, just the impression of what was said.

Ms. Klum, flirting is only disrespectful if your reasons behind it are. Flirting is simply a part of social interactions and a way of showing and gaining friendship and trust. As long as you stay clear of sexual topics, how on earth is flirting itself disrespectful?

@JoStockton: The law sort of sucks that way, yeah. But, the fact that abortion is legal may throw some kinks in the mix. I personally think that it is good, legally, for the defense to go forward, even if it pisses me off. I'm hoping it loses, and am interested to see how it will be dealt with from a legal

@first man: My depression got worse as I aged until I finally decided fuck it, i'm taking meds. Took me about 9 years to make the choice— but it could be you're like me, and it's steadily getting worse over time, and that's why it's so much worse when you stop meds.

@LazyHippo: Bored anybody. Hell, I'd do it. Plus, people who are REALLY into screening their dates.

@Wandell: Yes, it implies that. And I use it because I prefer it to pro-life, which is what most of them would classify themselves as. And yet it remains that for some of them, while they would like abortion to be illegal, as long as it is legal, they do not want to harass or harm women, but do want them to think

@hughman: All it makes me think is whether the number of images taken, and the extent of commentary on them, really constitutes as fair use. If I can see all the images here, I really have no incentive to go to the main site— which means they are losing revenue from people like me. Ad revenue, yes, but that's a big

Yes, plenty of anti-choicers just want women to think. But if you're standing outside of a clinic harassing the women that enter? You're not one of them.

@lodown: The point though, is that she IS pretty, and that they're all shallow. It's mocking them, not her.

@Blueberry26: What is shocking to me, is that the woman behind NOM claims to be in favor of gay couples adopting— just not marrying. Well, lesbian couples, anyway. She seems to hate men in general, and likes marriage because only hetero sex can result in oopsie babies, and according to her, it's the only way most
