As a millenial I might fall into the smaller and cheaper. I graduated college and got a 2013 Ford Fiesta. I really regret buying a brand new car out of college although I did pay it off, maybe I mainly regret buying that car with that shitty automatic transmission.

pretty sure that is Debbie Dingell - US rep from a district in SE Michigan. She had tweeted that she was honored to show Joe around the auto show.

I’m a little late but I think I’m the target for this car. I’m a 25 year old woman currently driving an 2013 automatic Fiesta sedan. Needs right now 1) no dual clutch transmission (SO MUCH JERKINESS) 2) more space.

“Mexico couldn’t maintain those systems and they were pulled and cheap labor was used instead. Scrap rates went thru the roof, but that didn’t matter when people were payed much less in a day what US worker made an hour.”

I agree, I live in Michigan and was thinking this appeals to me for similar purposes. Something with AWD for the winter, something to tow to get the boat up to the cottage in May (in this life where I can afford $1500/mo on a car I have a pretty sweet cottage), something sporty for my weekend trips to the lake.

You’re right that saying “GM sells more cars in China” is wrong and misleading (GM and its joint ventures is more accurate). Others have commented and demonstrated much better than I have that the China market is larger than the US market (truth), which is why it would be silly for American auto companies to focus

GM sells more cars in China than the US, so... not sure where you are going with that.
