This is a stupid decision. The regular Golf doesn’t sell because VW neglects it and has constantly cut content and styling cues from it reducing it to a very bland- and for it’s segment, overpriced- econobox. And they’re never incentivized. Lease rates on them are terrible.

As long as the GTI / Golf R exist, VW will have my money. But it better be a pretty face too, and this one is is far from looking anything like a happy or angry car. It just looks bored or half-asleep. 

Knowing VW it will disappear for a year, then come back badged as a Jetta Wagon since Jetta sales were way up this year.  Then, when Jetta sales drop, it will disappear for a year and then be replaced by a Golf wagon.  Repeat until the world explodes.

Oh, they’ll be bringing the regular Golf over. It’ll just be taller, with plastic wheel arches, a pretense of off-road capability, and it won’t be called the Golf.

Since VW is killing normal Golf, they should give us the Polo, and call it MiniGolf.

I wished Ford did the same for the Fiesta & Focus ST, bring in the hot models at least.

This is just...sad and pathetic. And arguably much, much worse than what originally happened to this person because he actually made this other guy feel like he had a good friend before getting his revenge.
