Lewis spent the entire weekend turning into 2020 Vettel, with his car not being a contender seemingly ruining his motivation and a young teammate with recent backmarker experience getting much stronger results. This will be an interesting storyline to follow.

I prefer this one.

My only question is what dropped on the keyboard of the Toyota branding executive who created the name for this thing and then hit Send?

Sell them as Scions. Pretty sure that brand hasn't used up EV tax credits.

I’m waiting for the 5-10 year old Morning Shift report. Least now they’re letting us know in the header

Pretty good. Back then we were worried about polio, not COVID, but shots still hurt.

“It shows the Wrangler, in both two-door and four-door trim, as the most-marked-up car in twenty four states — nearly half the country, for those of you who didn’t ace your fourth-grade geography tests.”

I’ve been saying for ages that speed limits should be in terms of kinetic energy rather than speed. If a 9,000 lb hummer is allowed to go 60 mph, I should be allowed to go *checks notes* 270 mph in my Elise.

Your 3rd point is really the only valid one. Luckily something like this is going to sell in relatively low numbers.

More taxes eh? Just what we all need.

Jalopnik:

I sure hope this hummer too goes the way of the old hummer.

9000 fucking pounds? Jesus Christ we can’t even do EVs right. Every day I’m more and more convinced that we flew too close to the sun a long time ago but convinced ourselves that the horrible burns were a nice tan. Fuck it all, no engines over 200 hp without paying for a more comprehensive license and any vehicle over

Yeah another unclear comparison/fumbling the numbers here comparing 60 and 70 mph stopping distances.

You mean the Mexican-built truck is kicking ass and taking names of two competitors built in Alabama, right?

Seriously? The old WRX went out of production in late 2021 and there were virtually no cars available anywhere in the country for the entire first quarter of 2022, hence no sales.

Buying it.

Its not even a question. I have waited a long time to replace my 2014 WRX STi Hatch.

This is absolutely perfect.

Funny thing is the demise of this car will not be by consumers but by Toyota dealerships. With shortages this thing will be a six figure car at some dealerships pushing the envelope and normal dealers asking $10k over sticker. Every cool car made in the last 6-7 years has had some sort of dealer markup with it being

AWD is a waste for most people.
