They currently make up less than 5% of new car sales in countries not in Scandinavia. They have a lot of room to grow in areas where home charging is convenient before they really need to deal with most of those issues, and hybrids will take over the market for people who can’t conveniently charge an EV.

The fast charging stations like the Tesla Superchargers can fill up the batteries to 80% in 5min or so, which is fine for road trips as long as your route has the stations. For other charging, you just plug in the car at night and never go to the gas station.
