Here's my viewpoint: even if it WAS all completely staged, and those little kids are the best amateur actors in the world, would it really make it alright? There's a reason why so many Hollywood child stars grow up with deep psychological issues, and that's in a professional environment. To make the kid live that

As someone who passes by a newsstand every day on the way to work, I can attest to the fact that the Enquirer is the closest thing Trump has to his own Pravda. Every day, there's a new headline about how strong his leadership is, or how he's just days from "taking out" one dictator or another. One even proudly

With the possible exception of Gordon Lightfoot's contribution, I think Ode to Billy Joe is superior to all of these. One of my favorite string arrangements in any pop song.

"One of the best film series ever made!"

2016 was the first election I can recall that seemed to traumatize women, and I don't even mean it in a "my side lost, I'm scared for this country " sort of way. Friends, coworkers, family members of mine—they all took it very personally, especially when they were close to people who had voted for him, and ESPECIALLY

Sure. All those hypotheticals are on Trump, not on you.

Party? I had no idea Fox News had finally transformed into a political party.

In your heart of hearts, you know we outnumber you and could crush you if we so desired.

BUT THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT. Secession was in many ways a direct response to Lincoln's election, and Lincoln was a member of a new party: The Republicans(!), who were committed to no slavery in unsettled US territories. Perhaps. But Nesbit isn't presented as a particularly sympathetic character in any case.

No where else to put this, but I've been reading all weekend about the "disastrous" Fyre Island Festival…

I gotta say, Sanford White's rape of Nesbit has been incredibly underplayed in retellings of this story. In the most famous, E.L. Doctrow's Ragtime, the author goes into great detail about Thaw's sins but White's barely even come up.

2017 is turning out to be Götterdämmerung for rich white scam-artist dicks.

Yes.

Oh, did Stefon make it too?

Speaking of P & R, I always loved how the character evolved from a sketchy douche named Jean-Ralphio to a trust fund baby-douche named Jean-Ralphio Saperstein.

Even Jean-Ralphio thinks this guy is: "♪♫ The Wo-o-o-o-o-o-rst! ♪♫"

I ain't scared of the man anymore. He's proven himself absolutely, hilariously incompetent and pathetic over the last 100 days.
