I drove a ‘93 Jimmy for years as a work vehicle. That engine was just rock solid. Ours was a stick, which was a hoot. The back window smashed out when we hit a hard bump in it (rear window latches didn’t really function) and, yeah, the spare tire mount creaked a lot but we took that thing everywhere. It was the…
We had a 1993 GMC Jimmy 2 door as a field vehicle (company vehicle) for years. I loved that truck. We could get 5 people in it plus our gear and it would scramble up any gnarly-ass road we were confronted with. We put 175,000 super hard miles on it and it still ran great when the company liquidated it. I badly wanted…
I’ve owned a Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 5 Outback. I still own the Gen 1 and Gen 5. The Gen 1 is by far my favorite. It’s a hoot to drive with the 5 speed. There’s an unrefined quality to it that makes me smile. Noisy and a little rough around the edges. I love it.
The head gasket issues started in '97 when the 2.5 became standard.
OMG, check this out from the company’s description:
When did “no reclining” become a thing? Was there a moment when the seats got smaller? I can remember flying for many years (pre 2010?) when reclining wasn’t an issue - everyone did it with no problem. And then on a flight in 2011 or so, I reclined my seat as was my usual custom and the guy behind me lost his shit - s…
My neighbor has one of these sitting in his yard rotting away along with 2 Firebirds. The Firebirds might be worth something but not the 30 year old Taurus. CP all the way. Not a classic and never will be. Too much lipstick on a pig.
Make fun of “mouse mouse fur” upholstery all you want, that stuff wears like iron. I miss mouse fur.
A friend had an ‘87 Camry back in the early aughts. Your description is correct. It was a rattle trap shit box that somehow managed to start, roll, and stop but those were its only redeeming features. She got hers for free. I would not own this car even if someone paid me to take it.
I have to ask, why the respray? Makes me concerned that there’s some questionable history going on here. This is one of those cars where if I’m not buying it from the original owner who lovingly wrapped it up in his garage for 20 years, my answer is always CP.
I definitely read it like he has two wives.
Damn that's harsh. But true.
Here we again with a car no Jalop would own. But would someone happily buy this at this price? Yes. Therefore NP.
I love this thing.... but at half the price. Super reluctant CP.
I’m a little on the fence with this one. It’s not going to becan awesome driver but someone who’s into old Hondas or had one in high school will happily pick it up and love it. Price is a little too high for me but someone will pay it.
Delica FTW. Yeeeeeeesssssss.
I’ve never quite been able to put my finger on why these cars look so wrong. Now I know. It’s the tires, they’re too small. If this thing were rolling on some big ass white walls, it might look more legit.
This was my favorite car I saw while I was in France. Was super hopeful it would grace American shores. Sob.
140 lb ft of torque has got to be a typo. My VW TDI had more than that. A lot more.
