Maybe this has been said somewhere else, but I didn't see it anywhere and was surprised that nobody interprets Healy's therapy scenes as a parody/nod to The Sopranos. Deirdre Lovejoy is dressed to look pretty much JUST like Dr. Melfi, and Healy himself channels Tony Soprano in those sessions in the ways he grows to

Wow, what a dick.

I was being sarcastic. Spoilers don't really bother me. It's about the journey, not the destination! But still, if it was interviewing Stephen Dillane about Stannis' demise on GoT, I imagine people would be up in arms and making headlines with their "experience: ruined" bullshit

I bet the only reason this didn't get an 'A' is because of the movie's criticism of theater critics, which can be easily applied to film and T.V. That scene was pretty genius, since it was both hypocritical (like Dowd here writes) but also pretty much spot on. A lot of reviewers and critics, especially here on A.V.

Thanks for the spoiler in your article title. Hadn't finished Empire yet

This season of television is a near-perfect example of awful, terrible, no good, very bad writing. I think this B grade is pretty generous. RIP Fish. Also, I really crave to know what the creator of this show has to say about the many strange and often seemingly careless decisions that were made in this story; namely,

Sadiki, I totally agree with you. I hope my points weren't misconstrued as missing the point of the show for the sake of extremism or anything. For example, on Mad Men — one of my favorite shows ever — all of the protagonists are white, basically upper class people. There just isn't much room for people of color

Also, these are just my opinions based on how I perceived the show. I'm not trying to be pretentious or over the top radical or anything. Just the social politics that I mentioned below felt like they've been done before, ESPECIALLY in superhero dramas. But I should say that this, besides the Dark Knight, is probably

Like, the whole show, Matt is saying how this city is basically fucked and needs saving, but outside of a few scenes showing Fisk's operations, you really don't get to see how that affects the real victims that Matt insists needs saving. I absolutely believe Matt when he says that, but the audience is deprived of the

I apologize if I wasn't as specific as you hoped, but like I said, there's only so much I can give you right now. Simply, I was hoping for expanded roles of the women characters, as well as the ones of color. I was waiting for characters like Claire and Vanessa to exist outside of the direct influence of their male

I'll do my best, Whovian.

Absolutely agree with everything Sava wrote here. Total bummer of a finale, and hopefully the new showrunners realize the mistakes that were made in the back half of the season, bring on Abraham as more of a full time director for the series, and implement the elements that made the first six episodes so damn good.

Thank you. That was helpful.

Hey, I don't have as intimate comic knowledge as most of you have, and I want to make clear before I ask this that I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just want to learn more in a considerate way about this character and the politics surrounding his coming out. Why is this Bobby Drake an insult to homosexual (reader)s?

Also, this had better not be Sally's final episode. I will be so upset and dissatisfied if this is the last time we see her. I'll be so upset and dissatisfied that I'll actually be really impressed at Weiner & co. for their artistic provocation of my emotions.

HEY someone help! I believe I misheard something — I must have — that Joan said in one of her final scenes in this episode. When Richard comes to her office and sort of apologizes and she reveals more of her history to him, did I hear correctly that she said she's been divorced TWICE? I know that can't be. Or maybe it

Same with Paul for that matter, except in this case, his season 5 cameo counts as a "minor character" appearance, at least to me.

Can Megan and Sal actually be considered "minor" characters? For (approximately) three seasons each, I'd say both are certainly bigger players than that.

Well i hope that's working for you, phil. I, on the other hand, actively go out of my way to disappoint, confuse, or cause myself pain to satisfy my own apparently masochistic curiosity.
