I’m not really sure — I like to eat almost everything, but I’m a novice cook and haven’t really figured out what I like to make yet! I don’t do a ton of meat, because I don’t trust myself to do it right, but I love pork and think I might make some sort of pork and vegetable dish my next adventure!

That looks reeeeeeeeeeeally good! I might actually try that this week! Thank you!

That sounds so wonderful! I don’t have a grill, sadly, but I bet if i showed someone that recipe and offered to share, I could get invited over to use theirs in no time!

Ooooh, that does sound really good! I also like that you could feasibly make one at a time and always eat them fresh out of the oven, because now that I love alone I’ve been making full (or even half) recipes and then having to eat the same leftovers for a week!

Oooh, I love Brussels sprouts. That sounds delicious and easy peasy!

Oh my gosh, that looks amazing. I love ramen, but never really thought about making it at home! I don’t know that I have a favorite recipe yet — I lived with a roommate who was an excellent cook for four years, and now that I’m on my own I’m having to learn how to actually plan things to cook instead of just being a

Has anyone cooked anything really exciting recently? I desperately need some new recipes!

She’s devastatingly charming in that 73 Questions. Also, just the other day I was asked what my spirit animal was, and I too answered meerkat! Don’t hesitate to call me if you need a fellow meerkat friend, Lupita!

Ugh, I got a new phone and lost all my progress on Two Dots, and I’ll be darned if I’m going to muddle my way through those fire levels again.

That sounds great! I’ve already spent a good amount of time at the Humane Society meeting all their cats, and it seems like a lovely place to volunteer! Thank you!

It’s a biochemistry PhD program! It’s been tricky to find campus clubs that aren’t super duper undergrad-targeted (not that I don’t like undergrads, but it already feels like a totally different lifestyle), but hopefully some good ones will appear! Thanks so much for the advice!

Oooh, a knitting circle would be both a great way to meet people and a good way to bolster my knitting skills beyond the basics. Thanks for the suggestions!

Awww shucks, you internet friends are the very best! But that is a great (if really challenging for me) suggestion! I’m in Boulder, and the people here are very friendly and nice to talk to in grocery stores. :)

Ugh, I’m in Boulder which is maybe a teensy bit too far for Chicago hangouts. But it’s good to have some internet grad school solidarity from afar! What kind of program are you in?

It’s a research program, so I pretty much am already doing half-time TAing and half-time research on top of classes. I worked in a restaurant back home, though, and am really missing all of the work-related shenanigans (if not actually the work itself)! Maybe volunteering would act in the same way? Thank you so much

I haven’t really attended a church for a few years, but it’s definitely something I was considering trying now that I’m in a place with options more in line with my beliefs. It’s just a little daunting. And I’ve heard Meetup is really big here, so I’ll for sure look into that!

I just moved to a new city to start grad school and am living alone for the first time and IT SUCKS. Actually, it’s really great in a lot of ways, but I’m pretty crushingly lonely. Did any of you make friends in a neat way when you moved cities? I just don’t really know how to meet people outside of a school context,

This is an outtake from Tay’s video for Blank Space, right?

I can’t for the life of me figure out why O’Hare was built to look so much like a midwestern state fair exhibit barn.

My roommate has that desk — I think she found a better price at Wal-Mart, but it was about a year ago! It has lots of storage and she hangs up cork boards with cute things on them in the openings at the back of the desk. It’s great and has held up really well so far!
