Sir, this is our most... modestly-priced receptacle.

Well I’ll be...I’m both very surprised and pleased to hear this. Save the manuals!

Absolutely true.
R129 not W.
This. I’ve been thinking about what I would I would replace my DD with. I have two small kids that I occasionally need to shuttle. Enthusiast/Sportscar options are 911 variant .... and? There are GT cruisers that are in a whole different league (DB11) or your normal sports coupes (M3, RS5,GT350) etc, but the 911 holds…
I kinda figured being a hybrid had to be a requirement for the question to make any sense. I mean... anyone buying an i8 at all... that’s gotta be important to them right?
This is the reason I have a Camaro over a Vette right now.
Not just for kids. Oh I want to carpool, lets open the trunk to throw my stuff and my passengers. With a 2+2, you just open your doors and throw it on the back seat!
Daily driving a 911 with kids sounds crazy until you actually think about it - mine are 2 and 4 and as soon as they’re able to fit in boosters, I’m getting rid of my truck and getting a car. Hell, even my 944 should be built soon and work out OK for shuttling the kids during the summer.
Lots of people put babies in the backseat of their 911; that rear seat sells. My wife, 4 year old and I all fit quite happily in my 996.
I guess I’m that nobody? (Not a 911, I put my baby in the back of an Aston Martin DB-9) I know a guy that daily drives his kid to daycare in 911, starting when the boy was an infant.
DD and also have kids basically have 1 choice, the 911.
I have no idea whether the Corvette will be a 2+2, but you’re right about the 911. Despite everyone talking about the feel of the rear engine, Porsche stuck with it because of those little backseats which, in my case, still weren’t big enough to be usable for my small family.
I’m 30 with a 911 and I love my back seats
This is me! I’ve been a Corvette guy since I was a kid, but since I have kids of my own, I’ll wind up with a 911 instead (if I ever decide to give up the M3, that is).
This is exactly what is driving me to a 911. Except kids I have a big fluffy 120 lb dog who def does not fit in a Corvette.
I can confirm that I’m planning to buy a CPO 911 in a few years and the biggest factor is the 2 + 2 seating. I have a son now so a two seater is not going to cut it as a DD so the 911 is essentially the only option available for someone with kids (and it’s a pretty damn good option too).
Starred for “rad.”
Same. Went from finicky E46 M3 to bullet-proof W205 C63. Am happy.
