It’s not like the A2 was ever a 2 cylinder.

Only if he was the “passenger” in that Nevada HOV lane story from earlier today.

No actually it’s not. It’s a DevOps team, not traditional IT. We implement global policies as decided by the CISO and team and the DevOps team along with our team at Amazon do it.

Now playing

I mean I don’t because I got the hell out of there, but it’s not far off.

WTF do you think the cloud is? It’s a bunch of server farms in geographically diverse areas that can be either networked together or held separately.

This is a tough one because it woudl clearly seem like a 4th amendment violation and that is probably our most sacred amendment in terms of keeping the government out of our lives.

I still posit the #1 reason you see older folks driving them is because they aren’t 2+2 setups.  If you have kids at home and you want to drive a real sports car, the 911 is one of your only real options.  The Corvette becomes more appealing when you’re an empty nester.

Yeah for San Diego county, it’s still pretty common for no AC in the beach cities, that’s true. I was responding to the “socal” part of the original post and having spent almost my entire life in OC and LA counties, I just haven’t seen that. It’s been a long time since hot days were so rare that people didn’t spring

Funny because I grew up in fountain valley and Seal Beach (born in ‘79) and while most houses didn’t have AC when I was really young, by the time the 90s came around enough heat waves had happened that most people I knew had AC installed during that decade.

I assume you mean SLS but indeed it is true for them.

I grew up in Socal and spent 5.5 years in Dallas during my teenage years (my mom’s job moved to Texas). As soon as I could I packed a U-haul and moved back to LA. The heat, humidity and insects of Texas along with how incredibly slow the pace of life was, just killed me. I’m sure some people love all of the above but

I lived in DFW for 5.5 years and saw roads buckled all the time, especially in the last month or two of summer. A quick googling shows this is pretty common in North Texas (maybe you live somewhere south?).

Really?  I mean that was probably true in the 80s when I was growing up - most beachside communities the homes didn’t have AC but inland cities did.  But from the 90s onward, I don’t know anyone without AC who doesn’t live in a shithole apartment.

Give me all the Pasha interiors please.

What is a tire bag for? It looks kinda like a tire warmer if it had no real utility.

I’ve learned a lot here in this thread. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a raccoon in all my years in LA. Coyotes, even deer, but never a raccoon. I’m sure they’re around but must not be too many here. And it seems like we’re quite lucky for that.

My first advice would be to move out of Venice. A lot of the things you’re looking for exist in LA, just not in that overpriced cesspool of a city.

Exactly. I purposefully drive a 911 because beyond being just a fantastic and engaging driving experience, it also blends in. I’ve literally never had anybody ask me how much it cost or what I do for a living as mentioned in the article - and if anybody did ask me that, I’d be creeped out - that’s weird.

Once you cross the checkered flag, your race is over, whether you are on the lead lap or down 10 laps. You should be going into turn 1 at no more than 30-40% of your race pace because it’s essentially a parade lap - people are waving to fans, doing a donut, whatever. This is how all racing is, even at the amateur

I live in the hills of Sherman Oaks so if you’ve seen a black one driving around, that’s probably my neighbor.
