Ha, yes that was definitely a typo. Thanks.

I might’ve missed it but the worst part of a water-cooled doc is definitely the valve springs adjustments. God, that got expensive quickly.

Yeah it’s been well-covered for days now in this very thread. Context is important, but so is timing. It’s also part of understanding facts and stuff.

I, for one, am shocked that a BMW sales person lied to me.

I feel like a 4 door GTI would be fine. People always overestimate what they think kids need. Don’t sell your car and just keep it and love it.

Is this US only? Cause I would’ve expected the E-class to be there given its propensity for taxi usage in the EU.

Couple problems. They don’t sell the 228 anymore. The replacement, the 230i isn’t available with a 6MT. When you add the track handling package (and zero of the “luxury” items), the price is 37k.

People keep saying that, but I’ve had one of these as a loaner car, and while they’re not as nice as the 45 versions with the stitched dashes and recaros, the interiors are fine. Compared to an A3 or a 220i, if they’re worse, it’s not by a ton.

I don’t have a LaFerrari or any hypercar but in my AMGs, I downshift to 1st all the time. They rev match for you and they won’t allow you to go over the redline on downshift so it’s not much different than going the other way during acceleration. However, first is close to useless on all but the tightest corners so

Ahh ok, I see what you’re saying. In that case, sure, road rash is fucking horrible (I could show you some awful pictures of my left hand after my glove wore through on the pavement.

You’ve gotta be kidding me. As someone who did a lot of MX/trail riding and road racing (mostly at Willow Springs), I would WAY rather crash on a road race circuit. You just slide and tumble and get up. You crash on a trail, you’re probably hitting some big ass rocks, cactus, trees, whatever. I got way more hurt

CDF? Cal Dept of Fire? If so, that’s gotta be a shitty job in this state.

Exactly my point. I haven’t felt an earthquake in years and I live off mulholland on the side of a hill, where I would think I would probably be more susceptible to them.

Yes, if you take the whole state and measure all earthquakes of course there’s more than one a couple years. But if you, who lives in one area looks at it that way, it’s really overstated. Even in your chart, if you look at the number over 6 (the size at which actual damage generally starts to happen), it’s quite

Lol at the people who think Earthquakes happen in California all the time. Ones that you can actually feel happen about once every few years. Ones that cause damage are much rarer.

You would be far from the first person of that size to buy one. Nobody looks “cool” and the seat hight is only an inch or two less than a normal bike so it’s still plenty rideable.

My first car was a 95 Camaro, brand new (yes I was quite spoiled). Anyhow, beyond throwing a giant sub in the trunk and replacing the rest of the speakers/HU with Alpines, this is what I thought looked super cool:

I love that this whole thread has turned into people telling you their super interesting story of the great deal they got because they are amazing at buying used cars.

Came here to post this. We don’t have Florida Man, so don’t give us his state’s nickname.
