It uses the same trans stalk and setup as the AMG GLA it looks like. If it functions the same, when you put it into N and shut off the car, the E-brake is immediately applied for you. If you then open the door, it puts it into park for you as well.

Yep very true. Last time I checked only something like <10% of electric use, even in winter, is for heating. Whereas with AC, there is almost no other way to achieve it (swamp coolers is all I can think of and they still use SOME electricity), especially on the large scale of industrial buildings.
