Alabama seems to invite pollution upon its residents in order to keep a few people rich. It’s not like Alabama is the poorest place, or the most polluted. It just depends where you live and probably to a great degree your economic status and race. 

When I was growing up, my umma would make 10 galloons of kimchi at a time. Somehow, she would find one galloon glass jars and re-use them year after year. Last time I was home, there were about 30- 50 one galloon jars in the basement. Now she buys kimchi at the Korean grocery store.
