I hope you got a buy-back
You should be OK then. There’s also some kind of a valve involved in the clutch hydraulics that can be removed to improve driving characteristics (or make it racier, don’t remember specifics).
The local store got one in not two weeks after I bought an Autobahn. Too stupid to tell me it was coming when I asked, I guess. Anyway they were around $41k or about a $2k markup on MSRP. Madness. They sat on that one for a while though.
Doesn’t the Mini equivalent of a GTI cost as much as a Golf R?
My GTI has a failing/failed GPS antenna after about 3k miles but I’m not about to write it off because it’s a fun car that’s useful and nice. I may feel different after the dealer has R&Red the headliner to fix that dumb antenna though.
The internet says if you want a manual GTI and you’re planning to tune the car, budget for and install a clutch upgrade too.
1. Yes if it will lay still and not try to change front to back, etc. I bet it would be heck on the interior though. I wouldn’t want a dog in my car, which has leather.
Park a mid-trim level mustang or camaro next to a VW and you might be surprised how much nicer then VW interior is. That’s where you spend your time anyway, amirite? Also as mentioned, the GTI has improved visibility and plain-old usability.
Go to vwvortex.com and find more than you ever wanted to know about the GTI and/or R - just try to not get too aggravated with people posting wheel spacers and paint detailing as performance mods.
FWIW I led a newish hemi Charger over Ohio SR 93 N in my GTI yesterday and it was a blast. I bet the Charger driver had fun too. The one thing the GTI did that the Charger couldn’t was take all the uphills and corners with the cruise set at the limit +5. That big white Mopar was like a yoyo behind me.
I’ll never forget one I saw where the catcher signaled, stood up and to the side, and the pitcher drilled a heater right into the ump’s chest. Ow.
You sir, have the admirable trait of being a thinking man, however I think you have one flaw in your conclusion - you’re looking for a decent politician, today. I’m skeptical that Ike could get elected today, because it would be obvious to money that he could not be manipulated.
Marshawn does good kinja in real life
The MPGs lost probably wipe out the saving of buying cheap low octaine fuel too
It was but now it isn’t, but this one is.
Mine were under Jalopnik and Gizmodo. Maybe they’re using some algorithm (aka, posting patterns) to select which subs follow which posters.
I had the same follow activity recently too but I thought it was because a photo from a comment of mine ended up in a blog post. Maybe not.
With Firefox I get a unresponsive script popup, over and over and over ... glad I’m not alone.
That was more of a teabagging than a knee to Ben’s shoulder. I recall seeing that live and thinking WTF?
Does the dog come with? It looks like a Good Dog.
