how about if my upstairs (finished cape cod) is significantly hotter and rest of house, which is wonderful. There is central air and the vents (both cooling and return vents) run upstairs. We just moved in and our bedroom is up there. There is a ceiling fan in our bedroom that semi helps.

my wife and i had it and it did nothing but help. I cant see how it would hurt unless you are headed for a bad situation anyway. Ours helped us figure our our communication skills and learn each others so we are better at it.
