I just had one for a week in Colorado —- I wouldn't say it was gigantic, i'd say it was "midsize," of course realizing that the term midsize relies on a fullsize car to exist for comparison, and that fullsize cars aren't really a thing any more.
Rental places also call a Fusion a fullsize. When I was growing up, a full size was a Caprice or a Vic. A Ford Taurus is called "premium" and anything with leather is "ultra premium fullsize dynamic"
