I’m only worried about them removing blood splatter, because it’s not just a cosmetic change. Many times I followed an injured enemy blood trail or got to know where a friend was shot from by seeing the bloodsplatter on the wall.

It’s hard to claim that Blizzard isn’t trying to tell a story in-game though.  There are allusions to the story in the level and character designs, and it’s kind of ridiculous to separate the game from its story-driven marketing campaigns.

Can’t really judge demand just by those that are vocal on the internet. The minority is usually the loudest. And who knows if most of them are actually going to follow through buy buying the game when it’s out.
