At that mileage, stock and in this market, it’s right priced.
A bicycle can get you to and from work, can get a brand new low end model for around $600 and will cost less to own and operate than this thing and will last much longer, too. Your health will also improve immensely
IT’S FORTY ONE YEARS OLD!!! It’s dirty. It’s slow. It’s unsafe at most speeds. Let it die. $1500 because it runs and can get someone to / from a local minimum wage job.
170,000 miles, dirty hatch carpet, rust starting, if it runs well, this is a $3500 car. No dice
Just a few weeks ago a 2007 example was bid up to only $34k on BaT. A similar price seems to get you a 2014 or 2015 model on the site. This is grossly overpriced for probably the worst looking MB hot wagon.
It also has a clear title and, per an edict from a Mercedes-Benz shop following a recent service, it “needs literally nothing mechanically.”
At that price range it is competing with a whole lot of other more interestingly collectible cars/trucks so as much as I kind of dig it, it isn’t a nice price. ND
Even if this included 507 literal horses pulling this like the Budweiser wagon, I’m not paying that much.
Even with the low miles, this is grossly overpriced. That money could get you something much newer (if you can find one).
“Given the prices on BaT”. Ok, then sell it on BaT and leave us out of it.
Just because a total restoration might cost $39,000 doesn’t mean anyone would do it. It’s a stunning preservation, but Christ, you can buy a house in Pittsburgh for that kind of money.
The price is not a mistake or joke.
All of your music, podcasts, etc, plus you can use your phone’s nav, which is leagues ahead of most automaker’s nav systems, ESPECIALLY Mazda. I own 2 Mazdas and their infotainment system does indeed suck.
Choice of GPS apps with live traffic, Choice of music streaming service with a legit interface, better sound quality than bluetooth, and most importantly a big easy interface so you can do what you need to without pulling over or having to wrestle with a tiny phone screen. My question wouldn’t be “Why do you need…
Waze or Google Maps on a bigger screen, with a better line of sight, and without having to touch your phone, is the reason.
I found that the Audio quality vs bluetooth was SIGNIFICANT when I was listening to audiobooks especially. It was jarring if I was on Android Auto and then went to Bluetooth (Like if I was in a parking lot and disconnected to send a text).
Waze, spotify ... So you don’t have to check the navigation option nor subscribe to Sirius.
The simplest and most universally understood way to control something on a screen has become touching the screen. That hasn’t always been true, but the way we interact with the world around us and expect things to work has changed dramatically in the last 15 years. We’re all trained for touch screens, and every app on…
In a 2019 Miata, (before it had car play/android auto,) I thought it was funny that while driving, the screen won’t show text messages for safety, but instead the screen shows something like “Because you’re driving, we will not show you the message.”
