Apparently its pretty common for the SI to shit it’s engine with fairly low miles, so I’m wondering if they are trying to reduce the workload a bit to help keep it from grenading itself. If it’s not working as hard to get the car moving, maybe it has less chance to go POOF?

I would think that smoking the patty for awhile, then yanking it out of the smoker and slapping it on the grill would be better since raw meat soaks up the smoke flavor where cooked meat really does not. Or.... just grill it on charcoal with a lump of hickory on the coals.
