I have seen so many on-line tweets and comments from men, politicians and even the police commissioner saying they were enforcing the Covid rules and the skirmishes and arrests would not have happened if “people” (i.e., primarily women) had done what they were told and not…

I’m sure the cops would point out that they told women to stay home “for their own safety.” Bad men out in the night hurting women always equals “women need to be more careful” and not “men need to cut this shit out.” Because that’s how cops roll. 

It’s called “kettling”.  Its a tactic that seems more designed to cause panic and disorder in the protestor ranks and to give the Police a psychological advantage over the people.  We saw it being used here in the UK throughout the 80s and 90s.  

The prime minister of the uk  has promised to look into the case. Which gives me no confidence, as his attitude to women is utterly misogynistic. The plain fact is, the police lashed out because one of their own got caught. 

This “tactic” of surrounding or cornering groups of peaceful protestors seems to be one of the main ways police escalate situations. We saw it all through the BLM protests, the same has been going on in Myanmar with the protests against the coup there and now yet another example.

Probably laying low because he isn’t that popular as the face of the family right now.

I’m of the same belief. The vast majority of us are products of a racist society.
