Neutral: I just assume that most reported sales numbers are a lie or extreme truth-stretch.

I’ll second that. I think they’re gonna keep sliding until most people start to get rightside-up on thier 6 year loans from the last boom, for better leveraged trade-ins. Then we’ll see sales start to increase again, but only in about 2 years from now.

No no no no.

Garage hasn’t been cleaned since he bought the car, yard hasn’t been mowed or watered this summer? No wonder he’s getting a divorce.

Pretty sure Rachael Leigh Cook also has pop up headlights “wink, wink, nudge nudge”.

And yet (fun fact!) they sold more TR7's during their run than the entire TR line put together,so someone thought they were “cool” enough to buy...IJS.

As a kid, I thought these were so cool. As an adult, the horror stories around even the most basic build quality issues (like cross-member and motor mount welds just breaking for no apparent reason!) made me lose interest. With a Mazda heart and a low-low price, I could be a kid again! NP!

Honestly, maintenance on these is nothing. Like, nothing at all nothing. You can get parts for them at Pep Boys,or from several online catalogs if anything is needed, and for odd stuff that may break, like 35-year old plastics do,eBay and CraigsList tend to always have parts available. I have an 80,and right now,I need to

It’s also said (apocryphally) that in China, “May you live in interesting times,” is a curse. To this TR7, I say:

I know, I know...I’m constantly saying on here to never buy someone else’s project. But $2k for a rotary-powered Triumph? I’ll throw a bright, smiling NP at that. I’d happily fork over most of a paycheck to have something fun like that to play with on the weekends. At that price, you can have a ball for a year or two,

Someone tried to GIVE me one of these. It was in better condition than this one. I refused. The build quality on these is the worst I have ever seen, except for Yugos.

well on the one hand the “getting a divorce” line is a red flag of a scammer, on the other hand it’s why not money and a rotary TR7 sounds like a blast, and since it’s an NA one it’s not likely to explode behind your head

I’m voting Nice Price, but I’m just spending other people’s pretend money. If I were spending my own real money, I'd probably take the $2,000 price and the $2,000 it'll take to maintain this over the next two years and put it towards a lease of a new Fiat Spider. All Fiats should be leased, not bought.

Username checks out.

For that price I am willing to make a huge mistake. I am also willing to sell it for that price when I realize how stupid I was for buying it.

NP. Should be easy to grab NC Miata parts for anything that can go wrong, as well as upgrades.

At that price, it has to be worth a gamble.

Where I grew up in California, these actually sold reasonably well. Yes, I’m that old STFU. If was this a yellow coupe in my neck of the woods, I would be very tempted. For whatever reason, I always liked these. Of course, I’ve never actually been in one, my opinion might change in that case.

How bad can it be for $2K? Hell...I would at least have a look if it were closer. NP!

Judging from the Lada 2110 in the back - this is either Russia, or some other post-USSR country. Nobody cares about safety here. Why care, if anytime a truck can hit you from opposite direction?
