I disagree. The Microsoft of old would have held onto these people in the desperate hope that things would magically turn around. This is a Microsoft focused on doing a handful of things well. You also have to take care of it. Maintenance is an afterthought which is what helps build a throwaway society. Why take care of it if it is so cheap to replace.
