Hey! It's 102.9 The Hog nowadays! Hog being an apt description of those two guys, of course.

Uli Hesse wrote about Muller's record a few weeks ago and explains where the goals came from: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/1228330/hesse:-looking-for-gerd-muller-goals?cc=5901

I asked this in a different spot, and assumed it was due to the oil boom. This confirms it: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=79810

I can't figure out the bright spot near what appears to be between Bismark, ND and Williston, ND. Is that due to the oil boom going on there? Shouldn't there be similar scenes in TX, OK, etc?

+1. It's easier to understand him than Rooney, Gerrard, or SAF.

+1 Ha!

I'd love to see Fox (or ESPN, or NBC) pick up the Bundesliga. If Fox went for that, with the CL and the World Cup, all they would need is one more league (Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico?) and they could still survive nicely. I can't even watch Bundesliga matches on tv and I still follow it as much as La Liga

"Limited" to the number they can sell, right?

Heh, I liked that.

Oooh, free air travel to Podunk, Nowheresville, and Cow City. Really fucking exciting. I'm sure the few teams that do go somewhere nice (Northwestern, USC, U-Washington, Vanderbilt, etc.) don't spend much time taking in the culture of the city.

True, but Spain has been winning at junior levels recently, too. They're the current U-21 and U-19 Euro champs, and the Olympic squad has at least three members (Alba, Mata, and Martinez) from the Euro 2012 champions. It wouldn't necessarily be failure if they didn't win gold, but to not get out of the group stage

I hope DUAN threads will be relatively easy to navigate. With the Gawker-style commenting, it would be brutal.

I've been watching Poland vs Czech Rep, with the idea of recording Russia vs Greece. In its infinite wisdom, ESPN has (unsurprisingly) decided to give updates of R vs G. I expected they would do so, but with a warning to turn away, turn the sound down, etc., but didn't even get that.

I agree with you re: Terry, but Cole had a pretty good season and put in a MOTM performance against Bayern. Baines is good, but Cole is still the better defender. The likelihood of a tandem of Lampard-Gerrard is ridiculous. They're both good, but not together. How many times does it take for *any* England manager

Well explained, New No. 2. To add a tad more, there's the Europa League, which runs year-round, but is to the Champions League what the NIT is to the NCAAs.
