So much fun. Thank you guys for doing this. I’m in New York by complete coincidence (living in Vienna) and this was well worth a detour.

I love songify version of this. So catchy.
Lovely bug, Raphael. Here’s a picture I took when leaving Jalopnik’s 24 Hours Le Mans event.
Article should have been called USA vs. UK. As Andrew tried to state, some (most!) differences are about UK version because in Germany we have same amount of horsepower, Recaro seats and for $40K you’re getting V8 in higher trim than base version in USA, so I guess it’s only fat mirrors and lack of vents. I can live…
40th Street and 3rd Avenue. I salute you, sir.
Fiat Coupé. Somehow it´s pretty and ugly, completely depending on angle. Big butt, weird cuts around the wheels but the whole profile is mesmerizing and three-quarter rear angle just screams italian exotic.
I was just driving along COTA with my rental car and I wanted some nice picture of the circuit. I drove just beyond the entrance and it was open. I drove little bit further and there was no one beyond first tunnel. So I made my pictures, didn´t know who to thank. Now I know because I saw X6 on the track. Didn´t know…
It was awesome night. Why they raced documentary had so much info about L.A. racing scene. And APEX looks awesome. Can´t wait for the full feature. Keep it up, guys. And Nitehawk was just the perfect spot. Never been there but I will certainly come back.
Can´t wait to get there. I will be in NYC on Friday and Saturday as well. Anything car-related to do? Give me some tips, fellow Jalops.
Very nice review, Patrick. I think you should´ve mentioned the weight being the problem. You said that you felt F-Type is little bit heavy when driving on the edge. That´s exactly my feeling. That car is waaaay too heavy for its own good. And in V8S it´s basically a pig. The R version gets away with it because it has…
There will be Skoda Fabia R5 which is pretty much what you crave... some czech journos already saw it and it is allegedly "amazeballs". :) Official pictures are still weeks away so you can unleash your fantasy. But it is coming and I can´t wait to see it as well.
I used rental Fiat 500... there are so many switchbacks that even standard Fiat 500 engine was up for the job. And Sa Calobra is often voted "best driving road in Spain". It has knot when it runs over itself in sweet 270 degree curve and it ends at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (you can see it in many…
Here in Czech republic we call it ugliest Skoda... ever. It´s the only model Skoda may discontinue after first generation. It just looks like two different cars merged in the middle by some drunk with really big hammer. That being said you have Roomster Scout in nice red color which looks considerably better than…
Definitely, Mike. Don´t let my eurotalk scare you. I´m sure that engine wise it will be slightly different when this new generation arrive in US.
You probably did right about now when new Passat was introduced few hours ago with two 2.0 TSI engines - 220 and 280 (that replacement for V6). I knew it sooner because I had some info from Skoda (I´m working as car journalist in Czech republic) beforehand...
Sure thing, but that´s the way with Skoda. Journo cars are always overequipped. This isn´t the case, Laurin & Klement Edition is really "everything checked" kind of trim, but Skoda almost always give journalist cars with top of the line trims. Máté has to raise his voice and try to get stick shift. And btw you can…
It´s very old engine from Passat and in next generation both Skoda and VW will kill this V6 and replace it with 2.0 TSI. But it sure sounds nice and can get up to speed with some patience. Czech highway patrol use this engine in Passat cars (R36 designation). It´s pity that Máté has everything with DSG. It´s rather…
I´ve been at the same presentation as Máté so I can say Alpin 5 is pretty awesome tire. Too bad there wasn´t much snow around Innsbruck. We had to climb to 7000 ft to find some patch of white powder and tires did great on that as well. If you are interested, there is video interview (in english, only with short intro…
Then I would come and beat you with Felicia Fun
You all know it´s just Alfa Romeo Giulietta with different face, right? :)
