You know what's a tremendous moment in Dead Man's Party? Giles, alone, in the kitchen, as he hears Buffy reconnect with her friends…

Seven more (in no particular order):

Okay. So, I have to divide this response into two sections. The first section is regarding your criticisms of Objectivism. And look — we could discuss those. I'm open to talking about inherited wealth, and how food stamps assisted Craig T. Nelson, and the idea that "growth and change are bad things." You might be

All right, Ellsworth. I got into Objectivism in college, and here I am, many years later — still "into" it. I'm probably fairly grown up by some standards (degree, living on my own, career, wife, child, etc.) and not so much by other standards (still enjoy cartoons, "youth-oriented" pop culture, etc.).

I enjoyed S1 and thought it had potential (no pun intended), and was surprising and clever in many ways… but it was S2 that convinced me that I was watching something different, unique and special. Game changing.

I do love the Shield. I don't know the exact ordering of my top five (Buffy notwithstanding), but yeah — the Shield should be there.

If the PTC is against it, I'm probably for it…

I understand the arguments for the Sopranos, the Wire, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc., etc. All great shows and fully deserving of the praise they receive. But Buffy is my personal favorite television show, and the one I'd point to as the greatest, and I'm looking forward to this week.

Season 6 is so freaking incredible, though. And I know it has its detractors (and I'll agree that it isn't without flaws), but it's so bold — I think even if someone winds up utterly loathing it, it's still worth their watching S6 to see what it's about and develop that opinion.

I don't know whether it hit upon this first, but imo Buffy developed the perfect TV serialization formula. It has its procedural elements, and (almost) every episode introduces some specific villain to be conquered — by the end of the episode. So every episode has its own, internal resolution. And then there are the

I don't know if the country can withstand four years of this insanity. I don't know if I can withstand another four months.

How did it happen that someone who is incompetent at seemingly *everything* has managed to fool so many people into believing that he is this ultra winner?

I originally came to the AV Club for the intelligent discussion on pop culture (both in articles and comments). I really don't need another politics site — I get politics from practically everyone else, all the time, anyways. And I agree that it's not like this is sparking deep, informed discussions about political

A decision was clearly made behind the scenes that some politics can be straight-up covered. Frankly, I think it's almost better that way. Instead of trying to shoehorn politics in through tenuous pop culture connections, they can just make this site into what they want it to be.

So everything works out. Owens didn't get the fall, but Austin clearly would have. It's kayfabe and science!

Maybe this crap plays in Georgia, I dunno, but I'd be more willing to vote for someone willing to cosplay as Han Solo — or cosplay at all.

I don't have much use for hatred, and I completely agree with you that walking away from hate deserves our support. I also understand why my use of the word "sympathy" might be questionable…

Is reformation the goal? Based on what I've seen (especially recently), I don't think it typically is.

I don't think the Shield is necessarily overrated. (Depends on the rating, I suppose. Depends on the criteria.) I love the show, and it's for sure top twenty… though not as good as the Wire or Breaking Bad.
