I think I prefer the Kermit original… but in the interest of full disclosure, I fucking love this song. Takes me back to my childhood, when the annual broadcast airing of The Muppet Movie was a big deal.

I take it you don't want to be cool?

There's no sin in receiving support from others. It is not a weakness to provide compassion or encouragement, or to receive the same.

"Brian Cranston…"

Isn't it?

Hmm, that's interesting.

Good point. And… Rick and Morty is going to be a thing again someday, right? I guess not all hope is lost…

Mad Men, The Daily Show, Parks and Rec… yikes.

I don't agree that April is a huge bitch, or that she needs to change who she is fundamentally. I think the "reset" you see is just April being April. She's a very particular sort of person and not everyone will appreciate her — not everyone should — and that's okay. You find her annoying and that's that. But I

I can't speak to that specifically, but I'm sure that there are gay kids growing up in religious families and communities, and who are, themselves, religious. Not being a part of those communities, I again can't really say how influential Kirk Cameron is… but he certainly gets a lot of exposure.

While I was in college, there was a movement by the students to increase student participation in University governance, involving sit-ins and other forms of (relatively) peaceful protest. Finally the administration caved and invited the students to send a delegation to negotiate.

I understand, and I'm not trying to take a side about her specific statements. Actually my message is that, insofar as we all believe in equality, we're all on the same side. It's not wrong to argue for women's equality or for the rights of any racial minority or sexual orientation or etc., but what *is* wrong is to

The problem is when people start looking at fighting for equal rights for one group as an attack on another group. It's the same mistake the MRAs make. In making some valid points, they also fight against feminism, thinking that it's "men versus women." But it's not. Equal rights for women is a good thing for

I dunno. If his arguments help 'cause gay kids to think of their feelings as being "unnatural," I call that harm.

That's style.

I guess this is easy for me to say, but how could you win an award like this and *not* show up for it? (I'm assuming the winners are notified ahead of time?)

Atlas Shrugged pt. 3 got robbed!

Tour? I thought he was gonna stand his ground, not be turned around!

I thought it was a really strange thing to say. Maybe it was a good-natured joke, or even an in-joke — I hope that it was! — but I really don't get the place it came from, and I kind of understand the backlash it's apparently receiving.

Well… I dunno how many other Objectivists frequent these waters, given that we're pretty much AV Club pariahs, but I came for de Sade.
