This is an awesome coffee maker, but I’d recommend getting the thermal carafe version and then buying the glass carafe separately. The glass carafe fits the thermal version perfectly, and you won’t have to deal with the heat plate ruining your coffee that way.

A couple of counterpoints:

I try to make my boarding pass and ID the only loose things I’m carrying. Everything else is already in a bag. When I’m through the checkpoint, I put my computer and ziplock of liquids back in my bag, grab the bag and shoes, and walk off.

Went through 3 airports the past 3 days so my biggest thing is actually what to do AFTER making it through the line. Everyone will toss their stuff in the bins (eventually) but the real annoying thing (for me) is when someone goes through the scanner or metal detector, walks over to their stuff and stands perfectly

I live in the northwest, so...chance of a massive earthquake someday, plus it rains half the year.
