Yeah, I joined credit unions originally for the feel-good reasons, but I’ve stayed because I find getting cash without a fee far easier than from any major bank.

I own the pictured Timbuk2 roller and highly recommend it. It opens in the middle, giving two shallower compartments, which works really well for me.

I know this is supposed to make people feel better, but it just doesn’t work for me. It’s like if someone told me “people don’t cry when they die in the vacuum of space, that’s just fluid leaking from when their eyes explode.”

edit: this looks like it’s completely untrue.

I thought all comments were greyed out on gawker sites unless staff went through them and decided they were ok. I noticed it after the spat of abusive comments on jezebel a while back. And that’s why if you comment on an article well after it’s published it never gets out

I want to believe this is a reply to how to remove tupperware stains, like the comment above it.

Read & reread, and I still understand it the same way the twocents author does.

Please do! I reread it and I still understand it as more expensive houses with lower tax rates mean you get the same revenue as cheaper houses iwth higher tax rates.

From the report.

“The two most important reasons why tax rates vary across cities are the extent to which cities rely on the property tax as opposed to other revenue sources, and the level of property values in each jurisdiction.” under Why Property Taxes Vary Between Cities — supported by data in Appendix 1a and 1b. At work, I use Google Voice Assistant to randomly turn on during meetings [just last week it recited the definition of a harlot in a teleconference]. At home and on the go, I use it to repeat what I want in an aggravated tone until I just do it myself, when I don’t have family around to do that with.

Thank you for giving a good link! This was really bothering me and I didn’t know how to explain.

It doesn’t matter that you only get 0.9 units of currency Y for one unit of X, it’s about how much you can buy with that. An Australian dollar only buys 93 cents in Libya, but that doesn’t mean lunch or a hostel costs more in Libya. Not that I’d recommend it.

But this whole article is misleading, because it’s only

We’ve had this stupid thing sitting in my freezer for 6 months for no clear reason to me. Now I have one!

They should, though! Argentina, Colombia, South Africa are all beautiful. My favorite destinations are actually all grey. There is a very loose correlation between populat destinations and enjoyable destinations.

I’ve actually heard Tunisia has amazing beaches.

wait, what? The Euro has weakened an enormous amount against the dollar. Two years ago a dollar got you 70 cents Euro, and now gets you almost 90. I guess it’s a little worse than 6 months ago, but it’s still a relatively good time to visit Euro countries.

I treat email like milk and pretend I’m lactose intolerant.
