Plot twist: guy trying to break into your house is a demon hunter
This one isn’t mine, but my mom’s. She told it to me a few years ago, when my husband and I bought our house; it’s the story of how my parents got my childhood home.

I went down a “staircase in the woods” rabbit hole on reddit one time. I think it was later revealed to be some fiction writing workshop thing, but it was great while it lasted.
I’m so hoping someone has a good ‘staircase going to nowhere in the woods’ one this year, those are my favorite!
