I Made This Burner For You

We used to live next door to a family that had a couple of Shetlands when I was little. Our full grown male St. Bernard used to jump the fence between our houses and they (ponies and dog) would take turns chasing each other around the corral. It was a delight to watch.

Highly social animals with eons of being intertwined with humans have emotional intelligence?! Color me shocked!

At this point, I’m wondering if this is just some crazy Kardashian sub-plot (or maybe its own series!) that will be the lead-up to divorce. Like, they’re posting as him so everyone sympathizes with Kim, like how they manipulated the plot/timeline around her last divorce.

the deep state

What do you call someone who rapes a slut. A rapist. You call him a rapist.

“there are pictures of you all through out this book”

That’s also a big impairment to their social media presence. It’s why Howler just hasn’t taken off the way Twitter has.

Andy is the literal worst in that movie. Oh, I’m sorry that your girlfriend is devoting one goddamn year to her job and not you. How tragic.

Not sure she counts as “lame” but I hate that we are supposed to hate Miranda Priestly and think Andy made the right decision by dramatically quitting in favor of her whiny boyfriend who needs a very special birthday party on his birthday. Miranda Priestly is supposed to be a cautionary tale because she is a divorced

When my daughter started dating, I always told her, “If someone gives you a creepy vibe, even a little bit...if the situation gives you a feeling of danger, even a little bit...even if there’s nothing overt to “justify” those feelings...just get out of there. You don’t have to explain yourself or apologize for wanting

My two cents: stay away from vibes, stay away from your own past relationship (they give her reason to dismiss you.)

When I confessed my sexual harassment story to a guy I used to work with, his response was “I always felt something was off about that guy and I could never figure out what it was. I figured I was being crazy, turned out he was sexually harassing a bunch of women in the office.” Sometimes you get a vibe and you don’t

“Donald, it is agony for those who are forced to watch you. Bring back Barack Obama, funnier and a far greater talent!”

A friendly reminder that in the last trade war which occurred under Bush Jr, 200 000 Americans lost their jobs and the US lost, as usual. Now take a loser like Trump, who has never once run a successful company, and put him in a trade war situation! Let’s see if he can top Bush Jr’s 200k jobs lost! The first part is

I’m reminding my Trump-voting coworkers that their beer comes in aluminium cans. “You like him enough to pay more for beer?”

That Alec Baldwin tweet throws me off a bit. I know the original that had “Dying” spelled as “Dieing” was deleted. I can only assume a staffer wrote the second by the copious use of commas.

Too late, she already vulture’d that culture.

what? i wish it were 2008!

A lot of white people can’t identify racism in the world or in themselves, so are we surprised that they can’t spot it in Trump? If there aren’t burning crosses, white hoods or flagrant use of the n-word involved, they just can’t be sure if someone is racist “in their heart.”

This has been one of the singularly good maxims to come out of the excellent “Yo, is this Racist?” blog, to wit: tolerance of racism, willingness to overlook it, willingness to enable it by not resisting it, downplaying its existence or effects, or willingness to normalize and legitimize it by not denouncing it loudly
