Egg retrieval is often painful. At the ivf-clinic where I did it, you get painkillers before, local anaesthesia and a port in a vein in case you need morphine. I managed without morphine but the pain was pretty bad, despite the anaesthesia. It took a day to recover. I’ve given birth before and honestly felt better the…
