Dead in the sense that we all die. It’s unlikely that ZD is planning on spending $100M on Gawker Media just to shut it down. Deadspin isn’t top tier in terms of readership, so it could still be shut down or spun off, but the default assumption should be that it will keep on going indefinitely.
