One time, I was showing my younger brother a game of Pathfinder for the first or second time, and he was insistent on playing as a bear. It was a pretty loose game so the DM allowed it. For the sake of simplicity, he made him a human who had been cursed with the form of a bear, so he could still talk and stuff.
