The states that vote by mail that I’m aware of (including my own) require you place your ballot in a provided, sealed envelope. We then sign the outer mailing envelope with the declaration that we are who say we are. The outer envelope is opened, and the sealed (anonymous) ballot is put in the “to be counted”

In Oregon, we vote exclusively by mail and must sign one of the envelopes or the vote won’t be counted. Our ballots are sealed in a second envelope.

It fit great! I think the key is having someone help you with measurements if you can. I did them myself initially, and then decided to have a friend help, and the numbers were a bit different. But, unlike another poster, I had no problem returning a custom-sized dress that I ended up not liking.

LOVE them. Mostly because their dresses have POCKETS. Holy crap, POCKETS. Sorry, I was really jazzed about the pockets.

The 3-D butterflies that you can adhere to the wall would look pretty with the fairy lights.

There are lots of online tutoring services that you can sign up with. They pay pretty crappily, but it would be a good way to get experience. Brainfuse and iTutor Group are the two that aren’t horrible, and I’ve heard Varsity Tutors isn’t so bad either.

As a dog owner, Nature’s Miracle is my jam. I love that shit like gold.

Just an FYI: apparently the oils in the skin is important for the flea/tick stuff, and washing strips the dog temporarily of much of their skin oils. So, it is reccomended to wait a few days after a bath to apply the flea/tick medication.

So, basically by 2018 our banks will have caught up with European banks from a decade ago (or, at least 2009). Sweet.

It depends on the local laws and whether the campus is public or private (and, whether the frat house is on campus property). My college was private, and the houses were on campus property, so unless the police were responding to a specific call, had a warrant, or were invited/requested by campus public safety, they

Things may be cheaper at Wal-Mart, but then you’d have to shop at Wal-Mart. Amazon isn’t a saint of a company, but at least they aren’t as morally bankrupt as Wal-Mart. I’ll happily pay more to avoid Wal-Mart.

I have Global Entry, and the paperwork they sent me says the card is only for land travel. I fly all.the.damn.time and I have zero idea where my card is. Never needed it.

Did none of your research for this post manage to tell you that you don’t actually use the card for airport travel? You only use that crossing land borders.

If you have Kaiser, you are pretty restricted in terms of where you can get your Rx filled. However, one nice thing about Kaiser is that they offer mail-order pharmacy, and will fill a 90-day Rx for the price of a 60-day Rx, which does add up over time.

While calling ahead or notifying someone in advance may have helped in this situation (although, I’m not convinced of that based on anecdotes included in other comments), it doesn’t change the fact that this was a massive overreaction by the TSA agents.

If you travel overseas a lot, then coming home will be so much quicker when you arrive. Getting to skip the long lines for passport control, and then skipping the long line for customs is awesome.

Apparently, I got the wrong books because I got nada.

I need 36 pens. I work from home, and can promise that the first 35 pens will disappear when I need a pen. So, yes, I need 36 pens.

It is actually LaTeX, as opposed to Latex - just an FYI. (Three years as a researcher in Germany beat this into me....)

I was going through a security line at the airport in the US, and suddenly couldn’t find my passport because it fell deep into my bag, and in my panic I just wasn’t finding it. I learned the hard way that whipping out my German ID card - which doubled as my German residence VISA - was not kosher with TSA. I got a nice
