A pint of ice cream is a single serving, you fucking fascists!
Skeevy older dudes hitting on younger women was the first thing that came to my mind when I read this.
Absolutely. He’s a good example, I’m not religious, but I’ll respect him till the day I die for his integrity.
Yup, he knew there would be consequences and he accepted them because it was worth it for him.
I’m from Australia, not California, and our agricultural industries have already made a lot of water use efficiency improvements, but I’d say most people have enough outrage to go around anyway. Being pissed off at one rich wanker doesn't mean you can't also be angry at almond growers.
It is crazy how people ignore toilet flappers. I knew someone who had a leaking toilet for A YEAR because they refused to call a plumber. I literally just opened the lid and used a sponge to scrub off the gunk that had built up in the tank (they had very, very hard water) and presto chango, no more leak.
Or, to quote Fr. Jim Martin (formerly The Colbert’s Report go-to God guide):
I second EVERYTHING ohstewardess said.
Ugh, if you host, you pay. Or, if you have no intention of paying, then before the event you bring it up to people that “Hey, we’d like to throw a party for Colleague. Would everybody be willing to chip in $X to make this happen?”.
I wonder if they sent bills to anyone they saw leave food on their plate... “hi, we walked around during the reception and noticed that you only ate half your steak and NONE of the steamed carrots which we already paid for. So here’s an invoice for $7.56. Please send us a payment AND an explanation for why you didn’t…
The people who would dare send me a bill for not attending their wedding would be dead to me.
Maybe she likes rugby! She looks a lot happier about the whole experience than her husband!
EVERY. THING. This BCO... THIS BCO, it... has EVERY. THING.
“yes, the tops of the mountains have sand, those are inverted beaches. and the blue stuff above them is the water”
I LOVE Dorothy Day. I wrote a paper on her in high school. I went to a Catholic all-girls school and it was the nuns who first taught me to be a feminist. I appreciate that Day actually walked-the-walk, so to speak. Yes, she was anti-abortion, but only after she’d had an abortion. Yes, she spoke out against the Free…
He’s cooler. He’s a Jesuit. They are cool and most Jesuits don't need to be cool for PR. They just are so I do believe he is cooler.
I am a middle-50s fellow who fell into one of those positions to which society and almost all individuals extend a great deal of authority and (at first, unearned) respect. In many professional settings, I insist the lay people involved use my first name, but if they are old enough to vote and get shot in combat, I…
From the headline, I thought that the dean was a woman who was married to a professor, who then cheater on her professor husband with another professor, and then fired her own husband. I’m not sure whether that would be better or worse than what actually happened.
Yes, I do know that. Her fame in the US has come from her roles in this country. She has starred on Broadway and in Hollywood, not to mention a very popular TV show. My point was that these actors are capable of playing any role with brio and panache. High standards to hit the bar. These ladies have.
